Kelly Hoppen MBE is a British interior designer and author, who featured on the BBC’s hit show ‘Dragons’ Den’ from 2013-2015. During her career she has designed the interior of the homes and yachts of many private and celebrity clients, including David and Victoria Beckham.
Kelly’s most famous projects include the first-class cabin for British Airways, The Royal Mougins Golf Club in France and the ‘Murmuri’ hotel in Barcelona. She is also the founder of the online ‘Kelly Hoppen School of Design‘, where Kelly offers her own unique style to students and walks them through the design process from start to finish.
Internationally renowned for her signature neutral palette, Kelly is often referred to as the ‘Queen of Taupe’. Her iconic style feature clean lines and tones, seamlessly blended with warmth and tactile opulence. Kelly believes that texture has the power to add depth to create room that elegantly reflect her sophisticated East meets West philosophy.
My philosophy has always remained the same. It’s about creating calm balanced environments based on Eastern cultures; the order and creation of harmony. How people feel in a space is as important as the way it looks. One can’t be without the other to succeed.
In 2009, Kelly was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to interior design. She is also an ambassador for rainforest charity Cool Earth, alongside Dame Vivienne Westwood.
Kelly is an author of nine design books and has received much critical acclaim and recognition for her 2013 book ‘Kelly Hoppen Design Masterclass – How to Achieve the Home of your Dreams’. Voted as the second most influential female interior designer in Britain, Vogue Magazine also listed her among their list of ‘100 Inspirational Women’ in 2017.
