We love a modern farmhouse here at Brass & Burl, so we thought we’d share with you not only a personalized shop, but also it’s inspiration comes via a Hollywood A-list couple.

We were browsing through the Architectural Digest website when we came across an amazing home tour of Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’s sustainable and modern farmhouse in Los Angeles. Dubbed the ‘KuKu Farm’, we were totally inspired by the stunning look and feel of their beautiful home. So much so, we created our very own California farmhouse shop to help you recreate the vibe yourself. 

The couple spent five years building the modern farmhouse from the ground up on six acres of land. With the main house connected to a guest house/entertainment barn, the property’s design aesthetic  seamlessly blend reclaimed wood, board-form concrete and glass.

The couple said:

We wanted a home, not an estate. We wanted the house to look like an old barn, something that had been here for decades, that was then converted into a house. But it also had to feel modern and relevant. Building a house from the ground up is no small thing – this was either going to make us or break us! To feel tranquility in a space, everything needs to be in order. If the world around you isn’t in order, it’s hard to get your brain in order. When we’re in our home, the world just makes sense.
