We’ve always loved the tiny island of Nantucket, just off Cape Cod, Massachusetts. That’s why when we saw this great article in Veranda Magazine by Lauren Wicks, we simply has to share with you these beautiful beachfront interior design ideas.
Nantucket is a stunning summer destination with dune-backed beaches, beautiful wharves and enchanting cobblestoned streets. The home featured by Veranda was put together by architectural and interior design firm Bodron/Fruit, who helped the owners create a comfortable home away from home with killer ocean views.
As you’ll see, the design team tried to focus more on creating ‘spaces’ rather than rooms. By knocking down walls to create a more open and light-drenched home, the team utilized pocket doors to allow each space to assume its own identity.

While the home’s interiors don’t subscribe to the traditional aesthetic and could as easily feel right at home in the middle of Stockholm or Oslo, at the same time, it feels delightfully at home inside a shingle-style house on the sea. The home offers all the luxuries of a beachfront manse, and its interiors are soothing, inspiring, and welcoming, beckoning guests (and the owner) to kick up their feet and stay awhile in this chic, coastal abode that offers all the beloved comforts of home without the fast-paced lifestyle.
