Big home design trends in 2019 saw people move more towards more natural materials, such as stone, copper, concrete and granite.
With many old design trends coming back in style this year, many interior designers incorporated Seventies chic into their ideas. By fusing warm palettes, funky textures and abstract silhouettes, the Seventies trend blew up in 2019 to bring amazing personality into every living room or bedroom design. Velvet made a big comeback in 2019 too, as the multi-dimensional fabric was used on everything from sofas and soft furnishings.
Decorators used more and more florals patterns in contrasting colors to update this classic look and to refresh the palette. Copper accents were everywhere in 2019, with it’s red and orange tones offering a much-needed breath of fresh air this year. We said goodbye to stainless steel, chrome and polished nickel, as brass offered a surprisingly warm and subtle alternative.
